PestWeb members buy the Macadamia Nutborer pheromone baits from Dr Richard Vickers who owns and operates 'Scentsability'.
Dr Richard Vickers worked for CSIRO on insect pests of horticulture for over 30 years. His major focus has been on the application of sex pheromones for controlling and /or monitoring pest populations and he was closely involved with the research that led to the development of mating disruption systms for orienta fruit moth, codling moth and a clearwing borer of persimmons. His last project prior to retiring in 2006 was his involvement in a European Union-funded program to develop autodissemination as a means of controlling diamondback moth.
Dr Vickers continues to be involved with insect pheromones, but now in a private capacity. He has an extensive library of pheromone compounds and can make baits for most moth pests whose pheromone composition is known. Baits are generally despatched within 3
business days of the order being received.
